ORCA has developed the first cold storage facility equipped with a fully automated storage and retrieval system (“ASRS”) in the country. ASRS, in conjunction with ORCA’s in-house warehouse management system (“WMS”) intelligently transports, stores, and retrieves pallets within its cold storage facility. To date, ORCA is the only cold storage provider that employs ASRS technology in the Philippines.
ORCA’s emphasis on automation allows the Company to maximize its efficiency – notably, ORCA believes that its automated facility is 35% more efficient than a comparable manual facility[1]. Automation also ensures temperature consistency, minimizes pilferage, improper handling, and cross contamination for the utmost food safety and security. ASRS allows for 19-pallet stacks (vs seven (7) to eight (8) pallet stacks in a manual facility). By combining advanced hardware and software solutions with its strong selection of strategic locations, ORCA provides a premium cold storage solution to its clients at a cost-effective rate.
Aside from food cold storage solutions, since ORCA can maintain the safety and security of its facilities, it has also been selected to support the COVID-19 vaccination drives of various local government units. To do so, ORCA has established dedicated loading bays, transport paths, and storage spaces for the vaccines. Currently, ORCA has a total installed capacity of one (1) million doses, and can service the storage requirements of the following COVID-19 vaccines
